Its quick-release Click-Lock buckle delivers clear, humane communication, distributing pressure evenly around the neck instead of choking the throat like a flat collar or slip lead.

Why a Click-Lock prong collar is ideal for Akitas

The Akita is a large, powerful, dignified guardian - fiercely loyal to its family, reserved with strangers, and often selective with other dogs. An Akita is heavy-boned and strong, and it can react suddenly to other dogs. You need secure, heavy-duty gear that gives confident control without choking a thick, muscular neck. The Click-Lock buckle snaps on and off in seconds without dragging metal over the head, and never pops open mid-walk.

Key benefits

Quick-release Click-Lock buckle - on and off in seconds, secure against accidental opening

Blackened stainless steel - rust-proof, corrosion-resistant, skin-friendly tactical finish

Even, humane pressure - 10 uniform links for gentle, effective correction

Rated up to 200 kg (440 lb) - heavy-duty strength for determined pullers

Made by Herm Sprenger, Germany - the global benchmark in prong collars

Technical specifications

Material: blackened stainless steel

Prong diameter: 3.2 mm

Length: 52 cm (10 links), adjustable +24 mm per link

Weight: 185 g

Load rating: up to 200 kg

Buckle: Click-Lock quick-release

Brand: Herm Sprenger (HS), Germany

Choosing the right size for an Akita

Adult Akitas usually measure about 50-60 cm around the neck.
