A working dog collar does more than hold a tag. It takes the leash under load, gives you something to grab when you need the dog close, and has to keep working when it is wet and dirty. K9-Industries has made working-dog equipment since 1995, and this range covers the collar types working handlers use day to day.

How to pick width and material

  • Width. 3/4 in and 1 in (25 mm) for smaller and medium dogs. 1.5 in (40 mm) is the usual pick for a German Shepherd, Malinois or Doberman. 2 in (50 mm) is for big, strong dogs and giant breeds.
  • Waterproof. The Professional Working Dog Collar is waterproof and comes in 3/4 in, 1 in, 1.5 in and 2 in. A good choice for dogs that swim, track in wet grass or live in a kennel run.
  • Handle. The Tactical Working Dog Collar (40 mm and 50 mm) and the Heavy-Duty 2-Ply Leather Collar both have a control handle for close work.
  • Nylon. Heavy-duty nylon collars in 40 mm and 50 mm.
  • Leather. Full-grain collars at 25, 30 and 40 mm, braided or padded 40 mm collars with Nappa lining, and 2-ply with brass hardware.
  • E-collar straps. Quick-release PowerFlex straps, plain or with a bungee, to carry a receiver.

The range also includes a 4 mm stainless steel choke collar with handle and the PowerFlex backup clip. If you train on a prong, see Herm Sprenger prong collars. For more leather, go to leather dog collars. Shopping by breed? Start with German Shepherd gear or Belgian Malinois gear.
